Case Study: Whole Whale achieves agile, scalable nonprofit product delivery with Pivotal Tracker

A Pivotal Tracker Case Study

Preview of the Whole Whale Case Study

Working with nonprofit and social impact organizations, Whole Whale is closing the nonprofit data knowledge gap.

Whole Whale is a social-impact tech company that helps nonprofits close the data and technology knowledge gap. Facing the need to scale agile processes across multiple retained clients and an internal SMS product while keeping sprint work visible and accountable, Whole Whale adopted Pivotal Tracker to translate their task-based sprint reviews into a consistent, trackable system.

Using Pivotal Tracker, Whole Whale mapped tasks and tags across projects (including three active client projects and their internal “All Good Texts” product) to get cross-project aggregate views of sprint load, improve staff accountability, and align work to their two-week sprint cadence. Pivotal Tracker enabled clearer workload visibility, stronger team buy-in, and more reliable delivery of technical products, helping Whole Whale scale methodically and meet their product goals.
