GIRE Enabling real-time transactions and analysis

GIRE, the Buenos Aires–based financial services company behind Rapipago, operates a large nationwide payments network—about 2,600 branches, 4,000 points of sale, and roughly 19 million transactions per month. The business relied on nightly batch processing and faced unreliable kiosk connectivity, which left management without a real-time view of transactions and cash on hand, increasing operational risk and inefficiency.

GIRE integrated Pivotal GemFire into its Spring architecture, deploying local GemFire instances in kiosks (P2P, client/server and WAN topologies) that persist data, queue and synchronize transactions as connectivity allows, and run business rules locally when offline. The result is near–real-time visibility and guaranteed synchronization to the central region, higher availability and resilience, reduced risk and costs, and a scalable platform for future growth.
