Portico, launched by Exclusive Resorts in 2012, is a private membership service that lets friends and family vacation together in luxury villas, resorts and homes worldwide. Faced with a tight three-month timeline, Portico needed an elite online experience — a polished, membership-based reservation and booking website that connected to multiple back-end business systems and made their high-end services broadly accessible.
Pivotal Labs recruited and trained a development team and, through a collaborative process, built a sleek, complex web application that integrated reservations with business systems and delivered a high-end user interface on schedule. The engagement included hands-on training of two in-house hires who inherited the codebase, expansion of site capabilities after launch, and ultimately supported Portico’s acquisition by Inspirato with American Express in late 2013.
