West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (WSFT) is a 430‑bed acute trust and NHS England “digital exemplar” serving around 275,000 people. After rolling out Cerner’s e‑Care, clinicians—especially in ED and AMU—were losing valuable time to repeated log‑ins and workarounds, creating inefficiencies and governance risks across roughly 200 active users.

WSFT worked with ITHealth to deploy FLOW, a tap‑and‑go VDI solution using staff ID badges with Imprivata OneSign and Pivot3 infrastructure to preserve live sessions and enable fast badge tap in/out. The change cut log‑in time by more than 75% (from 4.5 hours to 1 hour per clinician over 30 days), improved security and accountability, reduced helpdesk calls, and has been expanded to 300 users with strong clinician endorsement.
