Pivot3 Hyperconverged VDI Solution Dispenses Greater Patient Care for Award-Winning Hospital

Southern New Hampshire Health Systems (SNHHS) is an award‑winning regional health system with more than 20 campuses serving roughly 100,000 patients annually. Faced with performance and availability issues, the IT team needed a 24x7x365 VDI environment that could deliver instant access to EMRs, imaging and clinical apps across hundreds of desktops and mobile carts, support staff mobility, and reduce the overhead of managing some 3,000 physical workstations.

SNHHS deployed a Pivot3 hyperconverged solution—vSTAC HCI nodes across two identical datacenters, VMware Horizon View for desktop delivery, and F5 load balancers—paired with SSO-enabled wireless carts and session management. The result was continuous high availability and simplified management: clinicians can access patient data from any device, scheduled downtime was eliminated, updates are rolled out from a single master image, administrative effort dropped, and patient care became faster and more flexible (with planned all‑flash nodes expected to further accelerate access).
