Chartbeat, a real-time analytics platform for websites, needed a reliable way to monitor its externally visible services from the customer’s point of view. Although it already had strong internal monitoring, the team at Chartbeat wanted to track the performance of its JavaScript, beacon servers, dashboard, and APIs globally. Pingdom was used as the primary external monitoring service because it was cost-effective and covered most of their needs.

Pingdom helped Chartbeat set up checks for JavaScript loading, beacon servers, historical data monitors, dashboard uptime, and API response behavior, with alerts integrated into PagerDuty and a public uptime page displayed in the office. As a result, Chartbeat’s support and technical teams could quickly spot issues, compare customer-reported problems, and respond to significant downtime faster.
