A Ping Identity Case Study
The University of Gloucestershire, a multi-campus institution serving about 8,000 students, needed a resilient authentication platform as part of its digital transformation. Faced with budget pressures and an unwieldy “simplified sign-on,” the university sought a true single sign-on that would support a move to Office 365, integrate workstation logins, and meet operational and security standards.
IDM partner ProofID deployed PingFederate to replace four ADFS servers and a Shibboleth IdP, delivering a managed federation service that cut sign-on from as many as seven steps to a single entry and extended SSO to workstations and key apps (SITS, Moodle, EZProxy). The hosted solution reduced costs, improved efficiency, security and compliance, and has delivered continuous availability with no service failures.
