Opower, a customer-engagement platform serving 75 utility partners and more than 14 million consumers, needed a way for utility customers to access its portal using their existing utility credentials—without new account setup—while preserving partner branding and ensuring secure, scalable access.
Opower implemented PingFederate, a SAML‑based single sign-on solution, directly into its data center and client portals. The integration delivered immediate authentication and seamless portal-to-portal access, enabled rapid rollout to every client, and drove measurable increases in customer participation, page views and time on site while providing standards-based security for sensitive energy data.
