Case Study: Land O'Lakes achieves simple, secure cloud and mobile app access with Ping Identity (PingFederate)

A Ping Identity Case Study

Preview of the Land O'Lakes Case Study

Land o'lakes cultivates cloud and mobile apps through identity federation

Land O’Lakes, a $13B farmer-owned cooperative with roughly 9,000 employees, faced growing password sprawl as it adopted more SaaS and mobile apps. Users struggled with multiple logins, help desk costs and reset requests rose, and IT found custom SAML integrations too slow and costly—so the company sought a seamless, standards-based identity solution that would work with its existing systems and improve user adoption.

The company deployed Ping Identity’s PingFederate for SSO, OAuth and mobile/API security, integrating quickly with existing directories and CA SiteMinder. The rollout (installed in 45 minutes, fully operational in eight days) now serves more than 6,500 users, reduced help desk tickets, boosted app adoption—including a help-desk app—and enabled secure mobile access for 400+ sales reps with centralized access control.
