A Ping Identity Case Study
Inchcape, a global automotive distributor and retailer operating across 33 markets with more than 1,100 locations and ~18,700 employees, faced a fragmented identity landscape after rapid growth by acquisition. The company needed a single, global approach to identity and access management to give employees seamless, secure access to cloud and on-prem apps, strengthen security and data governance, and simplify sign-on across time zones.
After a proof-of-concept, Inchcape selected Ping Identity for its flexibility and neutrality, consolidating 26 Active Directory forests into a single SSO platform and integrating roughly 30 applications using standards like SAML, OAuth and SCIM. The rollout added MFA for remote and admin access, improved audit visibility for GDPR and governance, significantly reduced sign-on helpdesk calls, and proved scalable and highly reliable—forming a secure foundation for ongoing digital transformation.
