Equinix Eliminates Dreaded Password Resets Cloud App Use Soars with Ping Identity

Equinix, the world’s largest data center provider with 105 data centers and ~2,500 employees, was struggling with a proliferation of on‑premises and cloud applications after rapid growth and acquisitions. Employees faced too many usernames and passwords, broken bookmarks, poor mobile access and a spike in support calls that hurt productivity.

Equinix deployed PingFederate and a CloudDesktop to provide standards‑based, single sign‑on (SAML/WS‑Fed/OAuth) access to on‑prem and cloud apps from any device. Within two hours of launch 56% of employees (~1,400) were using CloudDesktop; the rollout saved roughly 500 man‑hours in 3–4 months and now supports 65,000+ Oracle logins and about 10,000 other app logins per month while restoring application visibility and usability.
