Case Study: Coalfire achieves secure, one-click cloud app access with Ping Identity

Coalfire securely enables the productivity of their mobile workforce

Coalfire, a cybersecurity company serving public- and private-sector organizations, needed a stronger cloud access and authentication strategy as it moved to a cloud-first model. With a highly mobile workforce and 13 offices across the U.S. and U.K., the company wanted secure single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and easier administration for cloud apps like Microsoft Office 365. Ping Identity provided the platform used to support this transition.

Coalfire implemented the Ping Identity platform, including PingFederate, PingID, and PingOne, to replace ADFS-based connections and enable secure access to Office 365 and other key applications. With Ping Identity’s help, Coalfire migrated about 30 apps and added flexible authentication methods such as email, SMS, and MFA. The result was one-click, device-independent access for employees, stronger security, and simpler user experience with less bookmark management and easier app access.
