Best Buy Delivers Efficiencies, Pleasant User Experiences for Employees, Vendors, and Contractors

Best Buy faced a highly complex identity and access management challenge across more than 1,100 stores and 180,000 identities, with employees, vendors, and contractors needing different levels of access to shared systems and data. After a broad RFP covering 450 use cases, Best Buy selected Ping Identity to help consolidate IAM and support multiple personas while moving toward a cloud-based model.

Ping Identity implemented a flexible, customizable IAM solution that let Best Buy authenticate users by email, detect the right app and login context, and securely establish the correct persona session. The results were strong: Best Buy cut its virtual machines from 70 to 7, improved efficiencies by 45%, and successfully migrated and deployed 400 apps in 10 months, while also improving security and user experience.
