National Flood Insurance was looking for ways to reduce costly NFIP premiums for flood-prone communities while improving preparedness and resilience. The challenge was understanding how to qualify for Community Rating System (CRS) discounts and which activities could generate savings.
Ping 4 helped guide communities through the CRS process, using FEMA and ISO/CRS requirements to identify eligible activities and complete the needed steps for credit. By implementing outreach, flood warning, and other CRS measures, communities could earn up to a 5% discount with 745 credit points and up to 10% with additional activities, helping lower annual NFIP costs and improve flood safety.
