Simplon is an Austrian premium bicycle maker (founded 1930) that set out to translate its craftsmanship and passion into a modern online experience. The company relaunched its website in 2019 and added a redesigned bike configurator in 2020; the core challenge was to convey Simplon’s innovative character and meet the needs of customers and dealers through a flexible, integrated digital strategy implemented with Pimcore and strategic partner elements.

The solution combined central data management in Pimcore with a storytelling-led design, improved navigation, an “Explore Center” online magazine, e‑commerce features and a powerful configurator that saves configurations, suggests adjustments and supports dealer collaboration. The result was faster page loads, a noticeably higher “joy of use,” streamlined customer–dealer workflows and a 70% increase in website traffic, making online bike configuration and ordering far easier for customers and dealers.
