Setting up digital spare parts sales in the workshop context with Pimcore

NagelCarGroup, one of Germany’s largest multi‑brand dealers with 18 locations and seven brands (e.g., Mercedes‑Benz, Jaguar, Volvo), needed to digitally network its workshop warehouses and build a sales platform for spare parts. Existing ERP and TecDoc data were rudimentary and inconsistent—only OEM numbers, basic product metadata, stock and price—so the group sought an MVP to list parts on its own eCommerce sites and marketplaces like eBay‑Motors.

polargold implemented Pimcore (PIM/MDM and DAM) with an API sync to ERP and TecDoc, harmonizing OEM/IAM identifiers, importing images and documents, and using an editorial workflow to create sales‑ready product records that publish to branch shops and third‑party markets. The roll‑out sold 50,000 products, reduced storage times through earlier sales, delivered consistent high‑quality data across locations, and proved easy enough to scale with in‑house staff.
