Backen.de, an Oetker Digital initiative by Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG, offers 600+ creative baking recipes and inspiration for home bakers. The challenge was that preparing recipe data—extracting ingredient lists, utensils and baking phases and calculating quantities and times—was labor-intensive and slow when done manually.

Using Pimcore (PIM, DAM, CMS) with natural language processing and generation, elements implemented a master data management system that automatically parses step-by-step instructions to generate ingredient lists, calculate total quantities, identify utensils and baking phases, and preview content for different channels. The result is faster, more flexible content creation with higher data quality, rapid adaptation of records and streamlined workflows for maintaining the recipe database.
