Deutsche Bahn, Europe’s largest railway operator, needed to modernize passenger services by consolidating train departures, delays, station maps and other travel data into a single system and publishing it across multiple touchpoints to improve productivity and customer experience. The challenge was to aggregate disparate railway systems and deliver real-time, user-friendly information to both staff and travelers.
Pimcore partner Basilicom built a Pimcore-based solution that gathers data from APIs into a central master data system, powers agent dashboards and self-service terminals, and drives omnichannel digital signage with features like station navigation, delay confirmations and feedback. The result is intuitive interactive screens and a new communication channel for real-time content delivery, an agile, extensible platform—and a Solution of the Year award for the project.
