A Pimcore Case Study
Continental Aftermarket GmbH (ATE), a century‑old brake brand within the Continental Group, faced an outdated in‑house web application for managing hundreds of spare parts and accessories. They needed a central PIM to eliminate redundant data, publish consistent product content across channels (website and high‑volume printed catalogs), support eight languages with translator interfaces, and enable configurable, target‑group catalog generation (selecting language, chapters, articles, etc.).
Quellwerke implemented Pimcore as the PIM/MDM/DAM backbone, migrated existing data via a custom import and database mapping, and integrated PDFreactor to generate scalable, multi‑page printable catalogs using a flexible tree and drag‑and‑drop catalog composer. The site was migrated into Pimcore and a translator interface with rights management was added. The result: dramatically reduced time to produce catalogs, far fewer content errors (critical for large print runs), and consistent, centrally managed product data across web and print channels.
