PIM and CMS support restaurants during the Corona crisis
essen-abholen.de, founded by Cedrik Bormann and Sebastian Adam in Aschaffenburg, launched a simple platform to help restaurants offer pick-up and delivery during the COVID-19 crisis. The site went live as a static page within two days and quickly attracted many restaurants, creating an overwhelming manual data‑maintenance burden.
Intera GmbH stepped in pro bono, migrating the site to a Pimcore DXP/CMS and PIM/MDM foundation and adding a registration form, keyword and proximity search, and a dynamic map—completed in a day. The result: much lower maintenance effort, faster onboarding of new restaurants, improved search and discovery for customers, and a platform the essen‑abholen.de team can now develop independently.
