Hermann Historica, a specialist auction house, faced the need to increase throughput and automate the move from delivered assets to published auction lots to support growth and run purely online auctions. The manual, multi-step enrichment and publication process limited the number of auctions per year and required a more efficient, centralized system.

Using Pimcore PIM/MDM and DAM implemented by Arrabiata, Hermann Historica now manages about 15,000 objects and ~50,000 media files with a custom workflow of up to 16 states, 15 user-group views, and integrated collaboration for photo/video production and external vendors. Interfaces forward data to ERP, bidding platforms, Shopware and layout tools; as a result auction frequency has more than doubled and the company ran a successful online auction with up to 1,000 simultaneous bidders, bringing it closer to its “auction house of the future” vision.
