Interior store expands digital commerce with PIM platform

Zelfbouwmarkt is a Belgian specialist retail store (opened 1980) known for high-quality interior, building and decoration products and expert in-store advice. Facing changing customer expectations and a desire to reach the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France, they needed to launch e‑commerce, publish product-rich online catalogs and replicate their advisory role digitally while handling large product volumes and complex delivery and shipping rules tied to their ERP.

Studio Emma implemented a Pimcore-based PIM/MDM and digital commerce platform to deliver a structured online catalog, CMS-driven advice (blogs, tips) and fast ERP synchronization (initially one-way, later bi-directional for orders). Custom checkout logic and a shipping-cost matrix solved mixed delivery and distance-based pricing. The result is a robust, performant, multi-language webshop with improved UX, scalable international reach and an ongoing partnership for further customer-journey and sales enhancements.
