IKEA, the world’s largest home furnishings retailer, faced weak mobile reception inside its large stores and wanted to offer shoppers free WiFi with a digital touchpoint to display targeted promotions. The challenge was to give each store the ability to publish its own landing-page content while providing marketing teams with an intuitive, non‑technical CMS and a single repository to manage all assets and campaigns across locations.
Using Pimcore (with solution partner Basilicom) IKEA centralized all assets and content in one DXP/CMS repository, enabling local stores and marketing editors to quickly create and publish customized landing pages when customers connect to the WiFi. The rollout improved customer engagement, made promotions more timely and relevant, captured shopper data for market research and targeting, and ultimately simplified content management while driving increased sales and revenue.
