Funke Zeitschriften GmbH (Funke Mediengruppe) needed a central "Rezeptdatenbank" to store, edit and deliver recipes used across its magazines and mobile apps. Their custom-built system suffered from slow performance, usability and data-model issues and couldn’t keep up with growing request volumes, creating fragmented data and bottlenecks for editors and app users.

Pimcore partner Leanatic rebuilt the solution on Pimcore (PIM/MDM, DAM) with a new data model, the Pimcore object/asset manager for content editing, and an Elasticsearch-backed API and custom admin UI for fast filtering and delivery. The result: significantly faster editing and publishing, reduced app wait times, simplified recipe/diet management, and a scalable platform for future projects.
