A Pimcore Case Study
DB Netz AG, the rail‑infrastructure arm of Deutsche Bahn operating roughly 33,300 km of track, needed a contemporary site for the Emmerich–Oberhausen freight‑line expansion. The existing microsite was overloaded with outdated and duplicated content and a deeply nested information architecture, making navigation and updates difficult; the brief called for a streamlined, up‑to‑date site that followed Deutsche Bahn’s corporate design and made key information easy to find.
Basilicom rebuilt the site in agile “construction phases” using Scrum and an Atomic Design approach, implementing Pimcore (DXP/CMS + DAM) to deliver a clear IA, reusable templates and modular components. In six weeks they launched a lean, responsive site with a modern DB look, an intuitive WYSIWYG CMS for editors, and a flexible library of assets — 25 CMS modules and 7 page templates — enabling simple content maintenance and future expansion.
