Central PIM for Consolidation of group-wide Data Sources

BTC Europe GmbH, a BASF subsidiary, needed a central system to manage product information, metadata, and documents across many scattered data sources. Before the project, teams relied on separate corporate systems and Excel lists, making it difficult to maintain consistent product hierarchies, sales rules, and up-to-date information for different countries and customers. BTC Europe implemented Pimcore with support from anyMOTION to create a central PIM/MDM and DAM foundation.

Pimcore helped BTC Europe consolidate data from multiple sources, including SAP, Kafka, and a data warehouse, while importing existing Excel-based information into a flexible data model. As a result, BTC Europe gained a single source of truth for product data and could automatically feed two customer portals with current information. The project delivered measurable impact, including a 30% shorter time to market, 45% less time spent on data maintenance, and more than 2.5 million data objects created.
