Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the Bundesliga football club, partnered with team neusta to replace its fragmented e-commerce stack with a centralized shop focused on fan-centric experiences, performance, availability and cross-channel commerce. The club needed a solution that enabled better customer targeting, season-campaign readiness, and efficient collaboration across IT, editorial and inventory teams.
team neusta implemented a Pimcore-based one-stop e-commerce platform—leveraging Pimcore’s extensible, intuitive open-source features—to deliver fast, flexible content and commerce capabilities. After ~1.5 years of development the responsive shop launched for merchandising, vouchers, boots and memberships, remained stable under high traffic during a special 40th-anniversary jersey sale, drove a successful campaign, and is now being refined with continuous deployment and usability testing to further improve UX.
