The JAF Group is Europe’s largest timber merchant, operating 58 sites across 19 countries with 83,000 products and roughly $450M in annual turnover. Despite its scale, JAF faced a fragmented digital footprint: no central product database or consistent e‑commerce across markets, a lengthy B2B buying process, and poor customer experience for carpenters who needed cut‑to‑size timber and simpler terrace planning.
Using Pimcore (PIM, DAM, DXP/CMS and Digital Commerce) and an elements implementation partner, JAF launched a 12‑language, multi‑country B2B e‑commerce platform with customer‑specific pricing, ERP integration and typical B2B workflows. The solution added an AI‑driven timber cutting configurator, a terrace designer, real‑time 3D room studio and automated print outputs; the result was faster product management, thousands of new B2B orders, higher conversion, lower warehousing and transport costs, and a scalable 24/7 marketplace that now contributes significantly to revenue.
