A Pilat Case Study

Police Scotland - Customer Case Study

Police Scotland, a major national police force, faced a significant challenge following the amalgamation of eight regional forces. They needed to create a single, uniform pay and grading structure for over 6,000 staff to ensure fairness and comply with the Equality Act, as the previously separate organizations all used different job evaluation methods and had no common pay framework.

To solve this, Police Scotland implemented the Gauge job evaluation software from vendor Pilat. Using the online platform, they evaluated over 800 roles, which successfully underpinned the creation and implementation of Scotland's first common pay structure for police staff. The Pilat solution was praised for its robustness, analytical power, and superb reporting functionality, enabling the team to meet all deadlines and complete the massive project efficiently.
