United States Courts turned to Piksel after a previous video platform failed to meet expectations. The courts needed video players that worked across device types, content optimized for their network, an easy-to-use platform, robust servers, and reliable support for the Cameras in Courts program, which requires recordings to be available online as public record.

Piksel migrated thousands of hours and several decades of content onto its Digital Enterprise platform, and wrote a tool to automate content and metadata transfer from the prior system. The team also helped move live streaming to cloud transcoding with AWS and tailored the platform for different court workflows. The result was a successful launch, including a large multi-day live event that broadcast without issue, along with easier archive maintenance and storage and an HTML5 player that improved the user experience across devices, including IE7.
