Sky Go, part of British Sky Broadcasting, needed a way to keep viewers engaged as audiences expected to watch video across PCs, gaming consoles, and mobile devices on their own schedule. To support its core OTT movie, entertainment, and sports service, Sky worked with Piksel on the platform behind Sky Go.

Piksel helped build and evolve the service so it could deliver live and on-demand content across multiple devices, integrate with Sky’s customer, entitlement, EPG, and payment systems, and protect content with device-appropriate DRM. Sky Go now has over four million household users, over 1.4 million unique users a week, and can support in excess of 320,000 concurrent users; it also won T3 Magazine’s Digital Media Service of the Year in October 2012.
