A PikMyKid Case Study
The University of Tampa MBA team evaluated PikMyKid, a school dismissal and parent–school communication app, to understand how it addressed client challenges around student safety, dismissal speed, traffic congestion, and brand perception. The study surveyed and interviewed PikMyKid clients to assess whether the platform delivered time savings, a safer dismissal environment, and cost impacts, and also surveyed students for external impressions of the PikMyKid name.
PikMyKid’s solution—an app for tracking and communicating student dismissals—produced measurable benefits: 78% of clients reported improved child safety (47% reported significant improvement), ~75% reported faster dismissals (many noting reductions of 10+ minutes), and 81% reported reduced traffic congestion; 42% found implementation easy. The report also identified opportunities for PikMyKid to add features users requested (about 74% want online campus safety alerts and 47% want digital permission slips) and to address cost and naming perceptions noted by clients and non‑users.
