How Bettys & Taylors brewed financial planning success

Bettys & Taylors, the 100-year-old family business behind brands like Yorkshire Tea, needed a better way to manage FP&A across its Group. The finance team was relying heavily on spreadsheets and a bolt-on EPM tool, which made consolidation, reporting, and “what if” planning slow and cumbersome across both Taylors of Harrogate and Bettys.

Pigment implemented a phased FP&A solution, with Viridian as the implementation partner, to consolidate planning into one system and create a single source of truth. Bettys & Taylors reported that tasks that used to take days now take minutes, scenario planning is much faster, and cost centre managers can forecast their own overheads with greater ownership and accountability; the company is also preparing to use Pigment’s AI capabilities to further improve forecasting and decision-making.
