one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers boosts stamping output by 82 parts per hour with Piab

The customer, one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers, faced a challenge on its aluminum stamping line where competitive suction cups were dropping parts, limiting output to 10 strokes-per-minute. Seeking to increase production to at least 11 SPM, the customer engaged Piab to find a solution using its friction cups.

Piab provided its friction cups for an initial trial on the stamping line. The solution was a success, eliminating part drops and allowing the press to run at over 11 SPM. This resulted in an additional 82 parts per hour, leading to nearly 679,000 more parts produced annually on that single line. Piab's cups provided a strong grip on oily surfaces, withstood high shear forces, and offered a longer-lasting material for increased savings.
