Nipro PharmaPackaging Germany drives 15 million cycles with Piab piCOMPACT®

Nipro PharmaPackaging Germany, a manufacturer of single-use glass syringes, required a highly reliable and efficient vacuum solution for its high-speed production lines. The challenge was to find a system that could handle an extremely high cycle rate of 32,500 cycles per day with minimal downtime, as their previous single-stage ejectors were causing machine stoppages and waste. To address this, they turned to Piab and its piCOMPACT® vacuum pumps.

Piab implemented its multi-stage COAX® vacuum technology via the piCOMPACT® ejectors, which provided significantly higher process stability and a much larger working range. The solution resulted in fifteen million problem-free cycles over a year and a half, drastically reducing downtime for ejector replacement and scrap caused by falling syringes. From a financial perspective, Piab's solution also delivered a lower total cost of ownership due to a longer service life and a reduced compressed air requirement.
