At Nipro PharmaPackaging Germany, a manufacturer of single-use glass syringes, the challenge was ensuring reliability and efficiency in high-speed, continuous production. Their previous single-stage vacuum ejectors were insufficient for an application requiring 32,500 cycles daily, leading to concerns over process stability, downtime, and waste. They partnered with vendor Piab to address this.

Piab implemented its piCOMPACT® vacuum pumps, which utilize multi-stage COAX® technology. This solution provided higher vacuum flow and process stability, was less sensitive to compressed air fluctuations, and reduced energy consumption. The results at Nipro included over fifteen million trouble-free cycles in approximately 1.5 years, significantly less downtime and scrap, and lower overall compressed air costs, leading to a more cost-effective total cost of ownership.
