cReal enables 78% lower CO₂ oat powder production with Piab

The customer, cReal, a Swedish food producer, faced the challenge of handling its delicate oat powder at an industrial scale. The fine powder was fragile, prone to forming lumps, generating dust, and causing blockages, which threatened continuous operation and product quality. To overcome this, cReal partnered with vendor Piab to implement a closed vacuum conveying system.

Piab's solution utilized its piFLOWf vacuum conveyors to gently and hygienically transport the powder through a completely enclosed pipeline. This resulted in a stable, continuous process with minimal dust, waste, and manual handling. The system strengthened cReal's climate case by ensuring higher yields, contributing to the ingredient's overall potential for up to 78% lower CO₂ emissions compared to traditional milk powder.
