Conberg boosts pet food micro-additive transfer 5 tons per hour with Piab

Piab worked with system integrator Conberg in Poland to address a challenge faced by an animal food producer. The challenge was automating the precise conveyance of micro-additives, such as vitamins and minerals, from a dosing station to a mixer located eight meters high, as manual handling was unergonomic and the tiny batch sizes required extremely low loss tolerance.

The solution implemented by Piab utilized a piFLOW®f vacuum conveyor equipped with a COAX® vacuum pump. This enclosed system conveyed micro-additives sequentially from smallest to largest batch, minimizing product loss and meeting strict tolerances. The result was an automated process that eliminated unergonomic manual lifting and accelerated production. Piab's solution ensured reliable, dust-free conveying suitable for food industry standards.
