Chemical Company Using Piab Vacuum Conveyors improves 6-meter transfer safety with Piab

A chemical company faced a significant safety and efficiency challenge when transferring Taconic acid into a reactor. The process involved hoisting supersacks high above the ground, which was time-consuming, created dust, and posed serious ergonomic and safety risks for operators. To solve this, they turned to Piab for a vacuum conveying solution.

Piab implemented a system using a piFLOW®p vacuum conveyor and a feed adapter to transfer material directly from a floor-level bulk bag unloader to the reactors. This automated solution eliminated the need for manual lifting and pouring. The result was a dramatically cleaner and safer work environment thanks to Piab's dust-tight design, which reduced product loss. The system also reduced labor, minimized maintenance downtime, and improved overall operational reliability for the customer.
