Bayer Hungaria Kft. boosts corn seed powder transport to 440 kg/h with Piab

Bayer Hungaria Kft. faced challenges with its manual process of moving corn seed coating powder bags 20 meters up to a coating machine. The old mechanical elevator was time-consuming, caused product losses, and created ergonomic issues. Seeking to improve efficiency and reduce costs, the company worked with vendor Piab to find an automated alternative.

Piab implemented two piFLOW®f conveyors with horizontal and vertical piping to automate the powder transport. This solution provided spillage-free handling and exceeded the required transport capacity, achieving a maximum rate of 440 kg/h instead of the requested 350 kg/h. The results for Bayer Hungaria Kft. included a complete elimination of manual handling, significant time savings, and a more efficient production process.
