Phunware teamed with Paramount Pictures International and agency MEC to promote the 2017 Baywatch film to Millennial moviegoers. The challenge was to reach and engage a mobile-first, ad‑resistant audience in a way that publishers would welcome and that also drove brand-aligned monetization.
Phunware created the Baywatch: Rules of the Bay playable ad — a branded ATV beach mini‑game that rewards players with the film’s signature “Welcome to Baywatch” line (voiced by Dwayne Johnson’s character) and social sharing options. The campaign delivered 4.9M impressions, 29.2K engagements, 8K replays, 1.2K trailer views and an average dwell time of 4:13, while boosting social-driven brand awareness.
