Czech developer MADFINGER Games wanted to monetize its hit first‑person zombie survival title Dead Trigger 2 without disrupting the immersive gameplay or alienating its core audience, and sought advertisers outside gaming that would feel relevant and credible to players. Phunware partnered with Paramount Pictures International and MEC to offer a branded native experience tied to the movie Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.

Phunware’s Phusion integration ran a four‑weekend Scouts vs. Zombies tournament with scout characters, limited‑edition prizes and interstitial video ads, supported by targeted push notifications, email, a custom YouTube trailer and sponsored Facebook posts. The campaign averaged 43.2K weekly tournament engagements, typical players competed three times, and custom videos delivered CPMs twice the industry average.
