Phunware provided precision mobile targeting for a Democratic candidate in a heated special election for a state senate seat in a moderate swing district. The campaign faced the challenge of turning out politically active registered Democrats in a district that had previously been Republican and had voted for President Trump in 2016.

Using TargetSmart GENIUS™ to match the campaign’s voter file to mobile devices and adding geo-fenced audiences from local women’s rallies and Democrat-friendly events, Phunware ran optimized mobile banner ads in the two weeks before the election. The effort identified 83% of targeted voter profiles, delivered 184,000 impressions with a 0.42% CTR, and helped the candidate win with 60% of the vote.
