A Phreesia Case Study
St. Luke's University Health Network (SLHN), a large, rapidly growing hospital system with 500 physicians and 216 locations, faced challenges standardizing check-in, improving point-of-service collections, and gaining financial transparency as it onboarded new offices and saw a rise in self-pay patients and copay discrepancies. To address these needs SLHN selected Phreesia and deployed Phreesia’s patient intake platform, including PhreesiaPad check-ins and integrations with its EHR and revenue systems.
Phreesia was implemented across all sites and integrated with GE Healthcare and Allscripts TouchWorks to validate demographics, verify eligibility, automate payment posting, eliminate scanning, and offer automated payment plans. As a result SLHN has collected over $6 million in patient payments, captures 86% of copays at point of service, saved more than 6,700 staff hours (and 3.8 million clicks) by eliminating scanning, enrolled over 1,400 patients in payment plans totaling $300,000+, and saw monthly collections climb to roughly $800–900K as PhreesiaPad check-ins rose to about 70%.
