PHPJabbers helped Universität Hamburg’s Institut für Laser-Physik, part of the University of Hamburg, address the challenge of coordinating hundreds of mandatory personal interviews for student applicants during the SS2015 application period. Using the Appointment Scheduler product, the department needed a web-based system to collect professors’ available time slots and let applicants book interviews efficiently while minimizing administrative effort.

PHPJabbers delivered a customized appointment scheduling platform that changed the workflow from working hours to date-based availability, showed all available slots in one front-end calendar, and supported student self-registration or LDAP login, with LDAP authentication for professors. The solution also allowed applicants to cancel and rebook interviews and enabled final confirmation through the administration system, streamlining the process and reducing extra administration to a minimum.
