How One Small Museum Launched a Global Campaign to Celebrate 100 Years of National Youth Culture

Museum of Youth Culture needed a better way to preserve, organize, and share a fast-growing archive of youth culture photography while engaging the public during its “Grown Up in Britain” campaign. The team was also looking for a scalable workflow for thousands of public submissions, and turned to PhotoShelter for Brands, using PhotoShelter as its online backup and media library.

PhotoShelter for Brands helped Museum of Youth Culture create an FTP-based submission workflow that automatically routed uploads into specific galleries, while volunteers added keywords and captions to make assets searchable. The campaign generated 6,000+ submissions, supported a nationwide photo book and custom wall calendar, and helped the museum build a democratized digital collection that anyone can contribute to in real time.
