How Bates College Powers Visual Communications Across Platforms

Bates College’s Communications Office, led by Director of Photography and Video Phyllis Graber Jensen, produces high-quality photo and video content to tell campus stories for students, alumni, parents and partners. Their challenge was distributing and finding those assets quickly and reliably—Flickr proved hard to navigate, slowing social, editorial and partner workflows and making it difficult to chronicle campus history and engage Gen Z audiences.

The team moved its visual library to Libris, using chronological galleries, IPTC metadata and keyword tagging plus the Libris Uploader and QuickSend tools. The result: instant field uploads, fast “boom” searches, easier gallery delivery and review, reduced duplicate storage and hundreds of saved hours—enabling faster, more consistent visual communications across social, web, print and internal partners.
