Niska launches robotic ice cream kiosk in Melbourne and Abu Dhabi with Phosphor

The customer, niska, faced unique operational complexities in delivering its robotic ice cream bar with thousands of possible flavour and topping combinations. The challenge required collaboration between multiple international experts. The vendor, Phosphor, was engaged to develop the kiosk software.

Phosphor designed the UX and developed the kiosk software, which interfaced with the robots and included a content management system and a POS. The solution was successfully launched in Melbourne and later in Abu Dhabi. As a result, Phosphor won an annual Umbraco award for the project, and the customer received outstanding feedback on the intuitive touchscreen ordering process.
