Phoenix Software brings Citrix up-to-speed for Joseph Rowntree Foundation

Phoenix Software helped Joseph Rowntree Foundation, a social policy research and development charity, address the end-of-life of its Citrix XenApp virtual desktop environment. With 140+ desktop users relying on the system, JRF needed an independent review and a replacement approach that would maintain performance and support future needs.

Phoenix Software recommended keeping the Citrix path and upgraded the environment to Citrix XenApp 7.5 on new HP servers running in a new VMware vSphere cluster, with JRF later upgrading to 7.9 itself. The project extended the life of existing Citrix assets, improved performance, reliability and longevity, added disaster recovery, and delivered a highly cost-efficient outcome while allowing JRF to manage the infrastructure in-house.
