East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) needed to bring together two legacy IT environments after a merger while improving the staff and patient experience under its #TimeMatters philosophy. The Trust faced slow, fragmented systems, multiple data centres, and a need to modernise its infrastructure and support more efficient collaboration across sites, so it worked with Phoenix Software to move toward a cloud-based strategy using Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Teams, and Surface devices.

Phoenix Software helped ESNEFT merge the two environments in Microsoft Azure, migrate users to Office 365, and build a roadmap for Microsoft Teams, Surface Hubs, and Windows Virtual Desktop. The result was improved availability, scalability, and resilience, faster and more cost-effective remote desktop access, and quicker collaboration across locations such as Ipswich and Colchester, saving travel time and giving staff more time for patient care. ESNEFT also reported that Teams had become a “game changer” for communication and collaboration, and Phoenix Software said the project delivered remarkable outcomes aligned to the trust’s #TimeMatters goals.
